FAQ
Which titration types does the app support?
The app covers two analysis modes:
- Acid–Base: Weak Acid, Strong Acid, Acid Mix, DiBasic Acid, Mono- and DiBasic Acid
- Precipitation: 1:1 Monovalent Anion, 1:2 Divalent Anion, 1:3 Trivalent Anion
Each type comes with a built-in reference dataset so you can explore models immediately after install.
What are Integral and Differential curves?
The Integral curve shows the raw titration profile — potential (mV) plotted against the added volume of titrant. The Differential curve is its first derivative, which produces a sharp peak at the equivalence point, making it easy to identify the endpoint precisely. Both curves are plotted together when you tap Plot Graph.
Do I need to prepare any data before using the app?
No. The app is pre-populated with built-in datasets for every supported model. You can start exploring titration curves immediately after launch without entering anything. To model your own experiment, use the Collect Data button to enter your own values.
How do I enter my own experimental data?
Tap the Collect Data button on the main screen. A form will open where you can input your measured values manually. The app validates entries as you type and calculates the curves once you submit the form — using the same algorithms as the built-in models.
Where can I see the calculated data points?
The full table of calculated values that make up the plotted curves is shown at the bottom of the main page. You can export this table using the export icon in the top-right corner of the screen.
How do I export results?
There are two export options:
- Data table — tap the export icon in the top-right corner of the main screen.
- Full PDF report (curves, parameters, and data) — open the left navigation drawer and choose the PDF export option.
Does the app save my sessions?
Yes. The History page stores all previously calculated datasets along with their model parameters. You can revisit or compare any past session at any time. Data persists across app restarts automatically.
Can I customise the chart colours?
Yes. Open the Settings page inside the app to choose your preferred colours for the Integral and Differential curves. The app also supports system-wide light and dark themes, which switch automatically or can be set manually.
Are the calculations suitable for professional research?
The app uses real chemical evaluation algorithms applied in professional analytical chemistry environments. It is designed for chemists, researchers, educators, and students. As with any modelling tool, always validate results against your laboratory protocol and calibration standards.
Which platforms is the app available on?
- iOS / iPadOS — iPhone and iPad (iOS 12.2+)
- macOS — Mac (macOS 12.0+)
- Android — Google Play
- Windows — Microsoft Store (Windows 10 version 17763.0+)

FAQ — Solution Equilibria Lab
What does Solution Equilibria Lab calculate?
The app determines equilibrium constants from potentiometric titration data measured in aqueous solution. Specifically, it calculates:
- Dissociation constants of weak acids (acid–base titrations)
- Solubility products of sparingly soluble salts (precipitation titrations)
- Thermodynamic constants derived from the experimental titration curve
Which titration systems are supported?
The app supports two titration modes, each with several system types:
Acid–Base titrations:
- Weak monobasic acids
- Mixtures of weak monobasic acids
- Dibasic acids
Precipitation titrations:
- Sparingly soluble salts with 1:1 valence type (e.g. AgCl)
- Sparingly soluble salts with 1:2 valence type (e.g. BaSO₄)
How accurate are the equilibrium constant calculations?
The app uses real-time computational algorithms designed for professional analytical chemistry. It processes experimental potentiometric titration data to derive thermodynamic constants with high accuracy. As with any modelling tool, the quality of the result depends directly on the quality and precision of the input titration data. Always validate against your calibration standards and laboratory protocol.
What do the diagrams show?
The app visualises equilibrium results as interactive diagrams. These show how the equilibrium concentrations of species change throughout the titration, allowing you to identify equivalence points and evaluate the derived constants graphically alongside the numerical output.
How do I export results?
Calculated results and diagrams can be exported for further analysis and reporting. Use the export option within the app to save your data. A full PDF export is available via the navigation drawer for sharing or archiving complete sessions.
Can I customise the chart appearance?
Yes. The app provides a customisable chart colour palette so you can tailor the visual presentation to your preferences or reporting needs. Font scaling is also adjustable. The interface supports both light and dark themes, following your system setting or set manually.

FAQ — Electrolyte Equilibria
What does Electrolyte Equilibria calculate?
The app calculates the equilibrium composition of multicomponent aqueous electrolyte solutions. Given analytical concentrations and thermodynamic equilibrium constants, it solves the complete system of equilibrium equations to return equilibrium concentrations, ionic strength, and activity coefficients for each species in solution.
What types of systems can I model?
The app uses a universal matrix-based approach that handles both simple and complex systems:
- Single-component solutions with one equilibrium process
- Multicomponent solutions with multiple simultaneous equilibrium reactions
- Systems with virtually no limit to the number of equilibrium reactions
This makes it suitable for anything from straightforward acid–base equilibria to complex multicomponent inorganic or environmental systems.
What is the pH Buffer Preparation tool?
Added in version 1.1.8, the pH Buffer Preparation page helps you design buffer solutions for a target pH. It provides three chart types to visualise the buffer system, making it a practical companion tool alongside the core equilibrium calculator.
How does the app account for ion interactions?
The app models ion–ion interactions through ionic strength and iterative activity coefficient calculations. Each iteration refines the activity coefficients until the solution converges, ensuring thermodynamically consistent results even at higher ionic strengths.
What does the graphical output show?
Results are displayed as interactive diagrams showing how equilibrium concentrations of each species depend on the system parameters (e.g. analytical concentration or pH). This lets you visually assess speciation, identify dominant species, and understand how the equilibrium shifts as conditions change.
How do I export results?
Calculated data and graphs can be exported for further analysis or reporting. Use the export option inside the app to save results, or generate a full PDF report via the left navigation drawer to archive or share a complete session.
